Obama loses in a land slide in 2012 and this is why I feel this way:
If you are a slave to the polls you will notice that this is a very close race and that most polls tend to favor Obama. However, for all the years I have followed elections the polls are very rarely correct, and almost always favor the democrats. Even in more conservative polls such as the Rasmussen Report (the most accurate poll during the 2008 presidential election, I might add) Obama still leads in many swing states. I think all of these polls are inaccurate and Obama is set to lose in a landslide. This is not an opinion but an observation! Every time Barrack Obama has been put on the ballot since 2008 he has lost by big margins and below is some of the evidence.
The first major defeat, was when health care reform was being rammed through the house and senate. Democrats had control of the house and senate and republicans did not stand a prayer of stopping them. Ted Kennedy passed away shortly before the vote and his senate seat was up for grabs leaving the democrats with 59 seats instead of the 60 needed to pass health care (considering they were gonna follow the constitution but as we know now they didn’t). Shortly after Mr. Kennedy’s death a Republican, Scott Brown, won a victory in Massachusetts, which would have prevented health care from going through the senate, stopping them short of the 60 votes needed. Of course the democrats found a way around the constitution and managed to pass the bill, but I don’t think anyone is surprised at that. The polls did not predict Scott Browns victory might I add!
The second major defeat was the 2010 election! Republicans swept almost every race replacing non conservative, establishment Republicans with tea party candidates and defeating the democrats in a land slide defeat. When I say Obama was on the ballot, do you not think for a second that this was a referendum on Obama? I think its pretty clear Americans were upset with Obama and thats what led to strong tea party candidates like Senator Marco Rubio, Governor Nikki Haley, and Senator Allen West. Republicans took control of the house and most governorships, while making a huge dent in the senate. This caused Obama to have to depend on Republican votes to pass things and prevented his, no opposition, hold on the country. This was Obama’s second major defeat that polls did not quite predict! Oops wrong again!
The 3rd major defeat was Wisconsin supporting Governor Scott Walker during the recall election. This is where a lot of my evidence of inaccurate polls coming from. Scott Walker was predicted to lose by most polls in Wisconsin, but ended up winning in a landslide along with his Lt. Governor. This is a huge defeat because it was a union led attempt, which is one of Obama’s biggest voter bases. The unions were upset that Obama saw the defeat coming and completely backed away and abandoned them. This is yet another evidence of an Obama defeat and the inaccuracy of polls. Not to mention it shows Obama has lost Wisconsin! Without Wisconsin (a state that democrats have won for many years now) there is no second Obama term. This is a must win state for the president!
Well now having outlined many reasons I feel that Obama is going to taste a landslide defeat in 2012, I then move to the topic of history. This is a mirror of the Reagan/Carter 1980 election where Carter, having many of the same problems is Obama, lost in a landslide. No president has ever won reelection in history with unemployment over 8% and there is no way that is changing before November, obviously. Even polls done by liberal networks such as ABC and MSNBC, struggle to poll Obama over 50%. If they struggle that much, imagine how reality is! Many big liberal democrats are backing away from the convention and don’t want to be seen anywhere near Obama, especially those up for reelection!
So again, when I say Obama loses in a land slide, the evidence is everywhere! Welcome to the white house President Romney!

I wish this were right, but barring something catastrophic, Obama will win easily because the American voters are looking for rock stars and not results. The balance of the electorate has shifted and most are now uneducated in the needs of the country.
I would dare to say that this election will bring out voters that haven’t voted in decades! Everybody knows that we have to get this man, and most of the Democrats, out of office or this country is finished!

I saw a Chinese young lady talking about Socialist China and she thought President Obama was trying to make America the same as China. She said he knows not what it’s like, freedon is much better and she had lived in both places.
So many people are simply uneducated, PERIOD! The Democrats plan, apparently, is, as someone else has said: “keep ’em dumb, keep ’em dependent, keep ’em democrat!” If you keep people hooked on the ‘drug’ of free handouts, dependent upon other people’s money, etc, then all you have to do is tell them the republicans ore going to take your benefits away, and people will vote for you out of fear of loss.

I am never one to count my chickens before they hatch. I do believe that Obama is in trouble and I hope his advisors don’t see it and become yes men. Obama won’t go quietly. He will challenge every State he loses. Being Obama is a narcissistic pathological liar he will cry foul at every loss. I am hoping the reports are wrong that George Soros is backing violent protests and mayhem if Obama loses. If it happens our new President and his justice department will have to deal with it. I just hope it isn’t too late and anyone gets hurt due to an idiot with money. If it does George Soros needs to get arrested for sighting riots and treason. I think we need to strengthen our Constitution and Bill of Rights so a Presidency like this can not push it aside again without instant removal from office. With RINOs in the House we can’t do anything about Obama. After November I hope and pray we won’t have to.

It shows good forward thinking in that you said we need to put in place stringent amendments to the constitution,not only for a candidate to be thourougly vetted prior to selection but also (and I especially like this) safeguards be put in place for the “instant removal from office”. These safeguards should be immediate,binding,and inalieanable.No votes, no trials,no congressional approval,just out you go you are no longer in that position.I further think the “NATURAL BORN CITIZEN” requirement should be clarified and so stipulated in the constitution.

His points are well taken, to add to his theory, Oblamer has to retain the votes he had in 2008 at least, then add if possible. The problem is that the possibility of a McCain voter deciding to vote for Oblamer this time is extremely remote. So, he cannot take from that camp, so he has to go after new voters and maintain the current voters. This means he has to attract more voters than in 2008 just to cover the ones who are now not voting for him. The problem is he is not generating the excitement to do that. He has most likely lost the moderate votes, since Romney is considered to be more moderate than Oblamer. He also looses the independent voters because they will find more leadership qualities in Romney. Oblamer will have to pull off a miracle to win, and if he does, it won’t be by much. When he looses, he will loose big.
You’re talking about a landslide, I think it’s more likely to be a mega-tsunami. I’ve seen straw polls showing Obama losing by a six to one majority. I haven’t heard anyone except some useful idiots say they are going to vote for Obama. Once was enough!

This sort of thing has happened before. Democrat president was going strong until November, and then he got upsetted by the GOP. No, I’m not talking about Romney vs Obama, or Bush 41 vs Clinton. This was Jimmy Carter vs Ronald Reagan back in 1980. Ronald Reagan swept Jimmy under the rug. If Obama isn’t careful, like he doesn’t think he has to be, Romney could do this to him and history repeats itself. While I am hoping and praying Pres “O” loses, the one big factor that’s being considered within this thread nor article: his personal like-ability factor. He comes across as “nice”, “sharp” and “good family man”. This matters and has a huge affect on voting. Again, I shudder to think what Oabminator part II would look like…and I actually think he will lose, but we have to keep that in mind.
Actually, even his so-called “likability” factor has dropped into the 40s in most polls. His campaign has been so negative, so divisive, so angry, that even the “he’s a nice guy who’s just over his head” lame-o argument isn’t winning supporters anymore.

Obama is a moderate not pretending to be anything else. Romney is a moderate who pretends to be whatever his audience is on any given day or moment. During the primary he was a right wing radical. Now he is backing away from that. Let’s face it, he was elected Governor of Massachusetts, which is not the harbor of right wing radicals.
Obama has made mistakes due to his lack of experience in 2008. Since then, he has gained experience, has moved to the center and has a clear idea of what needs to be done. Pushing for health care reform right out of the box was a big mistake when the economy was being flushed down the toilet. How many Presidents took office when the period between the election and inauguration was in such turmoil?
I believe many voters understand this history, are ready to forgive him for the mistakes made for a lack of experience and now want to benefit from the hard knocks of the past four years. Many voters also believe we need a President who does not need to think about his next election campaign.

I`ve been saying for awhile now that I think this election will be a landslide for Romney. Here are my reasons. Even though the polls show most black voters will vote for Obama, most of the black community is unhappy with him and many will not bother to even vote this time. He doesn`t have the support of the college age voter that he had in 2008, because many of them are now out of college and can`t find jobs. These 2 groups were key to him winning in 08.
Also, Obama and his policies have cost many people thier jobs, like the coal industry in West Virgina, which has mostly voted for Dems. but probably won`t this time. Then there are the small business owners, oil industry workers, space program workers and the list keeps growing. With all of that, I can`t see the election being anything other than a landslide.
That is if we have an election. These Occupy groups scare me into thinking that they are the tool that Obama uses to suspend, postpone, or even cancel the elections this November because of the unrest will keep citizens from voting. Also I do fear massive vote fraud by letting non citizens vote, including illegal aliens.
The outcome of four years of the Obama administration leaves this country in despair, weak and in debt to the hilt. There will be riots in the streets and new mandates from Obama will go into effect at the first sign of his election loss. I did not vote him in, and cannot wait to vote him out. Sad thing is I do not care for Romney either, He is just as bad as Obama (well almost), which doesn’t leave a lot of leverage for me on who to vote for. But I will do what is necessary to remove Obama from office, and that will be by not voting for him.
I hope that you are all correct about the landslide this coming Nov! Unfortunately, I think that it is going to come down to 3 or 4 states. Florida, Ohio, Virginia and one other (I hope Wisconsin). I live in FL and I think Romney will take Florida. Obama only won here by 2.5% last time but people were going ape-shit over him at that time. Not anymore! There isn’t any enthusiasm for him this time. I don’t have much insight into Ohio or Virginia but if Romney takes those 2 I think it’s in the bag.
Like what Matthew Phowell has to say but temper his optimism with the reality that unlike previous elections, this one is going to have unprecendented levels of election fraud. Expect it. If the race is close, fraud will likely push Obama over the top. In Virginia we’ve already had a case of voter registrations being mailed to dead people, people’s pets, etc. The list should have been scrubbed before being mailed out. Obama has opened up our border to illegals by closing down 9 Border Stations along the border with Mexico. Border Agents have had their hands tied in dealing with illegals. With Motor Voter registration, many are being registered on our voter rolls and aren’t being taken off. And especially alarming is that a Spanish firm has been contracting by the Administration to count the votes in the General Election — a firm with ties to George Soros. Since when do we allow foreign entities tell us who won OUR elections?!! Obama is using every dirty trick and pulling out every stop to win this election and it’s incumbent upon us as voters to do our utmost to ensure Romney wins by a landslide. It’s not that I’m totally sold on Romney, but I can’t find it in myself to vote for the fraud quatting in the White House. At least we know who Romney is and while he doesn’t score higher in Likeability than Obama, most people agree that he is a better choice for fixing our economy.

I think one of the reasons the polls are so “close” is because the pollsters skew the numbers through their sampling pool. If you look at the raw data, almost everyone of these polls (worse for the liberal ones) sample 10%-12% more Democrats/Democrat-leaning Independents than other voting blocks. If they were to take an even sampling of likely voters, the numbers would be heavily in favor of Romney. They do this, of course, to make news rather than report it. They want to discourage conservatives. But I think you are right. It won’t work and BO will lose and lose big.
I’m just worried about what he and the Senate Dems (who I’m convinced will also be booted out of power) might try to ram through during their lame-duck session between Nov 7 & Jan 20. I think we need to change the law. They get two weeks after the election to get out, and they can make no policy or legislative changes during that time. Here’s your two week notice…

This is not like your Dad’d recession. If Obama, and Bush, did not act with the mite they did, this would have been the depression of the 21st century. Depressions do not happen over night and they take years to repair. Below is how I decided who I would be voting for,
The criteria for the best presidential candidate is one having experience, character, an understanding of the problems facing the country, is living family values and will not sacrifice what is best for the country to improve his chances of winning in 2016. Barack Obama is the only candidate meeting this criteria.
He made mistakes early including allowing health care to side-track focusing on the economy, not recognizing the need to build coalitions with the Republican leadership in the House and Senate and failing to capitalize on the work done by the Bowles-Simpson Committee; even though he recognizes the need for a balanced approach to solving our debt problem.
We are better off than we were four years ago. With hindsight we know we were deeply involved in a sub-prime mortgage meltdown that almost brought on a depression. This meltdown was partially brought on by relaxing financial regulations and allowing institutions to get to big to fail.

The experience I am speaking of is four years in the White House while he was presented with the worse conditions possible: a near depression. You may not have played in the NFL; however, he has been president for four years under terrible conditions.
We are better off than four years ago. Four years ago the economy was about to blow up. We just did not realize it. The economy crashed in October 2008, three months before he was President.
As far as trying to help the economy, he made an attempt to reach a debt deal with the Republicans whereby for every $1 of tax increases he would support $3 of entitlement cuts. The Republicans turned it down. He also has tried to create jobs by investing in projects that will make us more competitive in the future; however, the repubs listen more to Grover Norquist than you the voter.
I commend you for starting a business. Obama’s comments about private enterprise was taken out of context and you know it. All he was saying is that government and free markets need to work together for a better economy. The government, our tax dollars, built the roads, invented the internet, provides for our common defense, put Las Vegas and California by building the Hoover Damn, built the Panama Canal, defeated communism, cured polio, on and on and on. The latest example is the Mars expedition.
